How do I cite unpublished and published meeting minutes in MLA style?
Note: This post relates to content in the eighth edition of the MLA Handbook. For up-to-date guidance, see the ninth edition of the MLA Handbook.
To cite unpublished meeting minutes, follow the MLA format template. List the title or, if no title is given, provide a description in place of a title. Then list the name of the organization in the “Publisher” slot, followed by the date and location of the meeting:
“Minutes of the MLA Executive Council.” Modern Language Association of America, 27-28 October 2017, New York.
To cite published meeting minutes, list the title or provide a description and then provide the publication details for the source in which the minutes appear:
“Minutes of the MLA Executive Council.” PMLA, vol. 133, no. 3, May 2018, pp. 752-55.
