To cite a novel published as part of a larger work, follow the same principle for citing a short story or essay within a collection: treat the larger work as the container of the novel published in it.
For example, the book Lilith’s Brood, by Octavia E. Butler, collects three of Butler’s previously published novels. To cite the novel Adulthood Rites from this book, provide the name of the novel in the Title of Source element, the name of the collection in the Container element, and the page range where the novel appears inside the collection. Note that Butler is listed in the Author element, as the author of the source cited, and also, for clarity, in the Contributor element, as the author of the collection.
