You may have seen people write should of, but that is grammatically incorrect. You should use should have or its contraction, should’ve:

They should have left earlier.

He should’ve brought a bigger suitcase.

The mistake probably comes from the fact that should’ve sounds similar to should of when spoken. But remember: should of is never correct. Use should haveĀ orĀ should’ve in your writing.
