The Oscars are upon us, and we at the MLA are celebrating with a look at the nominees for best picture. In MLA style, films are generally listed by title, and directors are given in the Contributor element, preceded by the label “directed by” (MLA Handbook 5.39, 5.44). The Publisher element may include the name of the film’s distributor, production company, or both (5.54, 5.58).
